Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy is provided as a template for review with legal counsel before publication. It is written to satisfy the disclosure requirements of A2P 10DLC and toll-free SMS verification programs (including Twilio's review).

Who we are

Tagaby is a lost-and-found platform operated by Telaeris, Inc. ("Tagaby", "we", "us", "our"). Our principal place of business is Mission Hills, San Diego, California, United States. You can reach us at [email protected].

What this policy covers

This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Tagaby website, mobile applications, and tag-based lost-and-found services (collectively, the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account information — name, email address, and (optionally) phone number you provide when registering or activating a tag.
  • Tag and item information — descriptions of items you tag, organization/school affiliation, and ownership records.
  • Finder messages — when someone finds your item and contacts you through Tagaby, we transmit their message and optional contact information (email or phone) to you.
  • Usage data — pages viewed, tag scans, approximate location of scans (if the finder grants permission), device type, and IP address.

How we use your information

  • To operate the Service: returning lost items, connecting finders with owners, sending account-related notifications.
  • To send SMS messages: account verification codes, lost-item notifications, and other transactional messages related to your tags. See the SMS section below for details.
  • To communicate with you about your account, support requests, and service updates.
  • To improve, secure, and analyze the Service.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

SMS / text messaging

When you provide a mobile phone number during account registration, tag activation, or as a finder responding to a lost item, you may receive SMS messages from Tagaby. These messages are limited to:

  • One-time account verification codes;
  • Notifications that someone has found your tagged item;
  • Replies and updates related to a lost-and-found conversation you initiated;
  • Service-related operational messages.

Message frequency varies based on activity on your account. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out; reply HELP for help. Opting out of SMS does not delete your Tagaby account.

We do not share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers and SMS consent are used solely to deliver the messages described above.

For full SMS program details, see our SMS Terms.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

  • With other Tagaby users — when a finder contacts an owner (or vice versa), we share the message and contact information the sender chose to provide.
  • With service providers — third parties who help us operate the Service (cloud hosting, SMS delivery via Twilio, email delivery, analytics), bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • With organizations — if your tag is registered to a school or organization, certain information (name, contact, item description) may be visible to that organization's administrators.
  • For legal reasons — when required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or government requests.
  • In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to the protections of this policy.

Data retention

We retain account and tag information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting [email protected]. Some records may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, accounting).

Your choices

  • Access and correction — you can update your account information in the Tagaby dashboard or mobile app.
  • SMS opt-out — reply STOP to any Tagaby SMS message.
  • Email preferences — manage email notifications from your profile settings.
  • Account deletion — contact us at [email protected].

Children

Tagaby is intended for use by adults. Tags are often used by parents on behalf of their children, but accounts are held by an adult parent, guardian, school administrator, or other authorized adult. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong password and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version.
